Dear Leah: That tribute was beautiful! My Gum was a bitter, too. And sassy. I remember seeing some cute pics of Brownie Bear over the years. God Bless you and all the piggies in heaven and here on earth. And the tears are
becoming few and few. So, here goes:

Wow, where do I begin??? My Brownie
Bear was a
Christmas gift from my
Hubby, Blaine. She was a pet store
pig and she was so cute and little
when I brought her home. She was very
shy and quite standoff-ish in the
beginning and her personality confused
me. She was a Biter, and I had never
delt with a biting pig, so it hurt my
feelings quite a bit in the beginning.
Later, I understood why that I had to
deal with her in a different way and
recognize when she wanted to take a
finger off (or two). She had fierce,
sharp teefies and that is why she
was the purrrrfect candidate for
many of the virtual events as 'Head
of Security'.

Brownie Bear was a Sassy pig. She
was quite the little Diva and she
demanded nothing but Respect. She
was Bossy and she wanted things
Her Way...or else. She was the Queen
of the house, and if we didn't like
it, then whee could just leave. Our
home was often referred to as 'La
Casa de Brownie Bear' and there
was a reason
for that. Yep. She
wasn't much of a Cuddler until she
got older and even then, she didn't
want to cuddle unless she was in the
mood. Otherwise, she would complain
until you put her down.

BB was a stone piggie. She survived
bladder stone surgery when she was
2 years old and another stone-removal
(through her urethra) when she was
4 years old. She had two Awesome
Vets that has taken the Best of care
of her and I am just Happy that they
did all that they did for her. Her
Vet in Virginia was Dr. Valerie
Campbell and her Vet in North Carolina
was Dr. Chris Griffin.

Brownie Bear was a very intelligent
guinea pig. She would give you kisses
on the lips for veggie treats and for
Metacam (honey-favored pain medicine).
She often played tricks on her little
brother, Butterscotch, especially
when he had something that she wanted.
She had a HUGE wheeker and would Wheek
Really LOUD if she heard the
fridge
door open or plastic bags rattling.
And if you didn't get what she wanted
fast enough, she would stand in the
opening of their cage and give you
the most Evil of Looks.

She has a book called 'The Adventures
of Brownie Bear & Butterscotch' and
she won 2nd Place in the 2007 CRITTERS
USA magazine for the 'On The Go'
category. Yes, she has made her Mommy
& Daddy Slaves very Proud.

BB was a Huge FLIRT! She Loved
to tease the piggie boys and flaunt
her stuff. She had major crushes
on several pigs, especially Sammy.
Sammy was Mary's pig (BB's Favorite
piggie-sitter in Virginia). BB would
follow Sammy around where ever he
went. He made her feel so safe. He
is over the Bridge too, and I'm sure
she has met up with him. Of course,
the Love of her life was Brownie
'Pumpkin Pig' and even though they
never met in person, they were always
connected in more ways than one.

She went
through 5 moves with us
and lived in 6 different places.
She was quite the traveller, I
must say. We very very Happy that
she lived to see our (her) first
house (that we owned). She was a
free-range piggie, and even though
she could go where ever she wanted,
she choose to stay close to the
food and water. She was a home-body,
or rather a cage-body. She didn't
like to wander too far from their
cage.

Brownie Bear, I hope I did you
justice, Baby. I Love You and Miss
You and I promise to hold you and
Love all over you and kiss you again
when the time is Right. We'll be
together again one day, I promise.

Say "Hello" to your boyfriend,
Brownie 'Pumpkin Pig' and to Sammy
and to all of your 'ole Friends and
new ones too, and also to Peter Gurney.

Rest in Peace, my Sassy Bear...

____________________________________________________________________________________
8:00? 8:25? 8:40?
