I read about Actigall in Guinea PIg Lynx, and it sounded good, but the vet looked it up and said it's contraindicated in rabbits and guinea pigs. The vet says to give her calcium citrate, which might dissolve them. She's only three years old, and now that she's improving from a urinary tract infection because she's taking a sulfa antibiotic, I need to figure out what to do next. The vet had a hard time in the surgery in October. How can I dissolve this bladder stone quickly? She'll be x-rayed again in three weeks to see if the stone is bigger or smaller. If it's bigger, she'll have surgery again. If she does, how can I keep them from coming back? She eats Cavy Cuisine, lots of veggies and greens, no longer any parsley or spinach, I've been giving her 25 ml of water twice a day since the surgery in October to try to flush out the crystals before they become bladder stones, but to no avail, she's got another fairly large stone. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We love Mattie, and I really want to help her. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Does anyone have any experience with a constitutional treatment for guinea pigs to prevent bladder stone formation? Mattie will be x-rayed in two weeks or so to see if the stone is bigger or smaller, or may have surgery again. Cia -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... I used the premixed gel on one and it did dissolve the stone, however, it was incredibly had on her little tummy. My vet no longer prescribes it. We did over come the stomach problems by giving yoghurt before and after treatments to line the tummy and seemed to help. But if it's contraindicated that means there might be other sideeffects and do more harm than good. This drug is composed from Chinese herbs and some people in Germany and Switzerland have good experience with these medication. Sideeffects are not described. Maybe you will contact the seller for further informations. http://www.petherbs.co.uk/ Left side in the menue you will find bladder crystals (sludge) and bladderstone under bladder and kidney.
