Wanted to share the latest on my little Maya pig. It's been about 6 weeks and it looks like she may have her stone and sludge issues under control. We are continuing to give her unsweetened cranberry juice 3 x per day and shilintong 2 x per day. She is also drinking alot more water (she was always a good drinker). I think this stuff is really working. Over the past week, her appetite has fully returned and she has gained weight (whew!). She was always a small piggy (0.7 kg), so this is very relieving! However, we now have a new issue. She has cystitis and urine scald. She is still taking antibiotics and is also on metacam. Her vulva is swollen, she has sores, and constantly licks her rear. I soak her bottom and clean the affected area daily. I'm also applying some calendula a few times per day. This seems to give her some relief. We also started giving her some liquid echinecea last night. Does anyone know what works best for cleaning the area. I've been using some hibiclens in warm water for soaking. Would a mild soap work better? As she sits in the same place a lot of the time. I clean her feet and apply Hibitaine twice a day. I let her sit in my lap so it can be absorbed. It works fairly quickly. Evelyn and Phoebe
