Hello again, and thanks to those of you who have written with sympathy and
suggestions. I will be answering e-mail individually, hopefully within the next
day. Skippy is doing well so far, and I sure would like to keep it that way,
but he sure made that last stone in a hurry.
Two questions:
Corn husks: I can't find any data on the composition of corn husk. I know
corn SILK is supposed to be very beneficial for urinary tract problems, and my
boys love it, and they also love the husk, which seems as though it wouldn't
have much of anything in the way of nutrition other than fiber. But I can't
find data to confirm that. Anyone know?
Does anyone have experience treating with allopurinol? It is normally used
as a gout drug, or for uric acid stones which are rare in guinea pigs - but at
least one study shows it may be helpful in preventing other stones. Effects
of Allopurinol on Renal Stone Formation and Osteopontin Expression in a Rat
Urolithiasis Model - Karger Publishers I am trying to decide whether to
treat Skippy with Polycitra and/or allopurinol, and don't want to wait any
longer.
Thanks -
Amy
