[Stones] a "non-stone" message for the board for a change.

A while back I lost the second of our two cavie girls, Star and Stripe,
to bladder stones. I want to thank everyone on this board who helped us
through this difficult time. After about six months with no cavies in
the house, we have decided to get some new ones. Star and Stripe shared
our home for six years and are sorely missed.
My daughter visited a small independent pet store in our area and they
had three boys ... they are all brothers (in fact litter mates) and are
between 4 and 5 months old. One is an abyssinian, one is a gold, yellow
and gray short-hair, and one is a black and white crested. My daughter
says it would be cruel to break up the family and we should adopt all
three boys. My questions for this board are
(1) will three boys (litter mates who see to get along well in the pet
store) get along with each other when they mature or is it more likely
they would fight with each other and (2) is the personality of boy
guinea pigs different than that of girls. {any other differences I
should know about}. Is it desireable to have the boys neutered ? and
if so at what age would that be done ? (any vets out there?)
Thanks for any advice.
Joel
