[Stones] change urine smell

It can take a long time for antibiotics to get rid of a UTI, and Bactrim
is usually one of the best for them. 3 weeks or more is not uncommon.
However, I'd get her pee cultured if it hasn't been already, so you know
what the bacteria are sensitive to and can get an antibiotic that will be
effective. My sow Suzi had a very strong smell to her urine with her
post-spay UTI. She was given Baytril, which cleared up the blood, but
needed Bactrim too to get rid of the smell and crying. More fluids are
also a good idea, to make her pee more (and less concentrated).
I'm not sure what exactly causes the damp belly and butt (not wanting to
lift up to pee? being in pain and sitting in wet shavings? dribbling urine
all the time?) but it also seems to go along with UTIs.
What is her dosage of metacam? Can you have it increased? It sounds like
she's in pain and the appetite, paper-eating, and even sitting in pee may
improve with more painkiller.
Good luck!
